How does Oklahoma tax capital gains?
As ordinary income, except that Oklahoma deducts qualifying gains on Oklahoma real or tangible property owned at least five years, or on stock in an Oklahoma-headquartered company owned at least two years. Long-term gains get lower federal rates than this calculator applies to other income, so use the capital gains tax calculator for the federal side.
How this calculator works
The calculator starts from federal AGI, subtracts the Oklahoma standard deduction and a $1,000 exemption for you, your spouse on a joint return and each dependent, then applies the 2026 brackets. When federal AGI is $100,000 or less, it subtracts a credit of 5% of your federal child tax credit for children under 17.
